Is The 11th Hour Too Late for Earth?

Leonardo DiCaprio's The 11th Hour is a feature length documentary concerning the environmental crises caused by human actions and their impact on the planet. The 11th Hour documents the cumulative impact of these actions upon the planet's life systems and calls for restorative action through a reshaping of human activity.

I agree we all must take action. If only DiCaprio would reshape some of his own actions, such as flying around the world in his private jet (hundreds if not thousands of times worse than a regular citizen driving a SUV).

Hmmm...I read an article the other day about how he was one of Al Gore's main supporters. I never thought he'd do a documentary about the effects of Global Warming though.

@spanish joe-You are right about the jet setting around. For some reason, people always think conservation applies to "other people."

@SF Giants-I think it is more than just global warming in the documentary. Its more like a "perfect storm" of cataclysmic events that are going to have a cascade effect soon.

It's definitely pretty scary to recognize all the environmental dangers our planet faces in the future. It's hard to face, but I think every single one of us has to make an effort (I agree.. it doesn't just apply to "other people").

Never thought that Dicaprio has the concern on global warming before...

If only all celebrities have the same attitude, we'll be moving faster than today to reduce the effect of global warming.

@scented candles-He still jets around in private planes, but I think he will be stopping because he was written up about it.

It's been reported that Dicaprio is one of the most environmentally minded Hollywood stars. I recently read that he not only drives a hybrid, but also flies commercially. It's too bad the 11th hour is being called a "snore fest"
