Clear Cutting the Boreal Forest

Shell's Tar Sands Mine Threatens Boreal Forest
The Shell oil company has announced plans to expand its Jackpine tar sands strip mine in Alberta, Canada. The project would fuel more global warming pollution, hasten the destruction of the boreal forest and imperil wildlife, including caribou, songbirds, owls and lynx -- all to extract the world's dirtiest fuel and supply dangerous pipelines like the proposed Keystone XL. Tell Shell to withdraw its application for the mine and to focus instead on cleaner sources of energy.
