In Canada's boreal forest, the Peace-Athabasca Delta is a haven for millions of migratory birds. It's no place for even more tar sands development, which is already poisoning the boreal forest's rivers and lakes.
These undisturbed wetlands provide a resting spot for tundra swans, snow geese and countless ducks, but they are now being threatened by plans for a trans-boundary pipeline that would carry tar sands oil from Canada to the U.S. Gulf Coast.
If approved, the TransCanada Keystone XL pipeline would lead to more tar sands mining and drilling in the boreal forest, creating toxic waste sites, destroying critical wildlife habitat for millions of birds and generating three times the amount of global warming as conventional fuel production.
The 2,000-mile pipeline would also traverse the U.S. heartland, including the Nebraska Sandhills and the Ogallala Aquifer -- the source of clean drinking water for two million residents.
Please take action by clicking this link to send a message to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and ask her to STOP the Keystone XL tar sands pipeline.

Last summer Amy Rae Elifritz went from being a healthy and happy 20 year old with her whole life ahead to losing her life in a matter of days . . . sadly, this could have been prevented.
Did you know that tampon related Toxic Shock Syndrome is real, relatively common, and can be deadly? Last summer when Amy experienced flu-like symptoms the fact that she was menstruating seemed unimportant. A few days later, on June 13, she died from Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS).
Lisa Elifritz, Amy’s Mom, founded You ARE Loved to help raise awareness about the link between tampons and TSS with the goal of saving lives. This summer, our new non-profit organization is seeking to mobilize bloggers to help spread the message and is inviting you to write a blog post on this important topic.
I encourage you to read this note, visit us online (website, Facebook, Twitter), read our informational brochure, view a two part story by the Indianapolis CBS affiliate WISH-TV (part 1 and part 2), read how others have participated in our blogging blitz (sample of what one blogger wrote about TSS , what another wrote about puberty education, and how one parenting expert featured us as a guest post), and also to do your own research.
We will be adding a section to our website linking to blogs featuring information about TSS and You ARE Loved. Please share the url of any post you make so that we can include it on that page.
Thanks in advance for considering the opportunity to partner with You ARE Loved in our effort to raise awareness about tampon related Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS).
