The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) launched a $5 million project to clean up dioxin contamination from Agent Orange at a former air base in Vietnam. U.S. sprayed more than 11 million gallons of Agent Orange, which has been linked to cancer, birth defects and other medical conditions, across southern parts of the country during the Vietnam War.
My husband suffers from heart disease and diabetes, as a direct result of exposure to Agent Orange during his tour in Vietnam. It is a shame that the US left this mess for others to clean up. We should learn from this and clean up after our wars, if we must have them. Better yet, let us stop the wars.
