What To Do With Colorado Plateau Region

The resource management plan for 1.2 million acres of land in the spectacular Colorado Plateau region is up for review by the U.S. Bureau of Land Management. The current Resource Management Plan (RMP) for this area has been in place since 1987.

Possible land uses for this area in the future include increased uranium mining and oil and natural gas exploration. The wild lands of western Colorado represent a masterpiece of erosion, weathering and wildness.

This wild area is riddled with shale hills and rocky sandstone gorges. From the towering Book Cliffs spanning the northern skyline of Grand Junction, Colorado (below) . . .

to the labyrinthine redrock canyons of the imposing Uncompahgre Plateau (below)

to the hidden natural arches and jumbo-jet sized alcoves that grace the area's rugged canyons, all of these lands deserve protection.

Your voice is extremely important to ensure these western Colorado lands are protected from industrial exploitation as the region feels the pressures of rapidly increasing oil and gas development, mining, and off-road vehicle use.

Click here to send your message to the Bureau of Land Management - Before January 9.

Click above to tell the BLM to manage western Colorado lands with wilderness, wildlife, quiet recreation and paleontological protection in mind. But, you must weigh in before January 9!

Those images look amazing actually. Great color and patterns there. Hopefully a way can be found to keep it as pristine as possible.

This are really nice pictures of the Colorado Plateu Region. It should be kept as it is now, because it's a very nice landmark. Wouldn't do there any changes.

Leave this Region as it is. This is to beautiful to destroy it. How could people think to change this? I could never agree with them.
