Keep Environmental Eye on Forest Service

The current administration has been weakening environmental oversight necessary to protect our national forests. They have been promoting logging and cutting protection for wildlife and water resources. Worse, they have done this while keeping citizens out of the loop.

The latest environmental insult is a proposal by the Forest Service to radically change how forest management plans are developed. STOP this rule change before it happens.

If this newly proposed rule goes forward, it would

• remove all protections for wildlife,
• encourage more clear cutting,
• eliminate water quality safeguards, and
• lock the public out of the planning process for years to come.
