Well, we are halfway there. . . in two places

On Saturday, the House of Representatives passed an energy package that includes a national renewable electricity standard requiring electric utilities to obtain 15 percent or more of power from a combination of energy efficiency and renewable sources—such as the wind and solar power.

The result?
  • Energy Bill in the House that contains renewable electricity standard but no fuel economy provision.

  • Energy Bill in the Senate that contains fuel economy regulations but no renewable electricity standard.
What to do?
Congress will return from their recess in September. Stay tuned for updates on action to take to encourage the House and Senate make both a renewable electricity standard and fuel economy a priority.
